Homework Policy
At home, second grade students are expected to:
Each day, your child will bring home an agenda with homework assignments penciled in. Please check your child’s homework and initial his/her homework agenda each evening. By initialing, you assure me that you have seen the assignment that is sent home on any given day. Return homework the next school day, in the section of this folder labeled “right back to school,” unless otherwise noted.
Suggested Extra Practice:
This year we are using the XtraMath web-based program to increase speed and accuracy in arithmetic. The best part is that it is extremely effective and only takes a few minutes each day! I have attached login information so that you can get started right away in setting up your account. This program is AMAZING and I know that it will help your child commit these facts to memory. If you do not have access to a computer, please let me know so that we can make other arrangements. J
Also, please check the class website, www.missrenna.weebly.com, under “practice links” for more supplemental homework ideas and links.
If your child has difficulty completing the nightly homework assignments, please contact me so I can work with him/her the following day at school. Homework is not graded, but will be checked for accuracy and completion.
Roughly, the homework schedule is as follows:
Monday-Reading/Spelling list
Tuesday-Reading/Math
Wednesday-Reading/Language Arts
Thursday-Reading/ Math/ Study for Spelling
